SEOquake Lives!
We're proud to announce the literal rebirth of one of SEMrush's most beloved side-projects - SEOquake! SEOquake is a free browser extension that allows users to view a variety of SEO parameters for any webpage on the fly. In other words, you can now perform thorough SEO analysis of any webpage in only one click with nothing but your browser at hand. In addition to its new look and feel, the latest version of SEOquake has lots of functionality improvements as well. Let's see what's changed and how to get started!
How do I start using SEOquake?
SEOquake currently supports the latest versions of the Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers. You can download the Chrome extension from the official store, and the Firefox version will be available shortly. Both versions are absolutely free!
Now, let’s see what's changed in the new version.
General Changes:
We've redesigned SEOquake’s reports completely to improve their usability and overall look, and to make them more convenient for the user. In addition to that, users can now navigate between different SEOquake reports using the new page tabs - Page Info, Diagnosis, Internal/External, Density and Compare URLs/Domains. You can switch between all of SEOquake’s reports instantly with just one click!
Page Info:
The Keyword Density section now displays only the top 10 keywords for each category, but you can click 'See all' to view the entire list. In addition to that, all user parameters displayed on the page are now grouped automatically.
And also, the print version of the Page Info tab now has a new look, so be sure to check it out as well!
Diagnosis:
Site Audit users will find the updated Diagnosis report familiar. Now, at the very top of the report you can see a brief summary of all possible issues that SEOquake has found for a particular page. All in all, we worked really hard to make the entire report more comprehensible and easier to read by improving its overall design and excluding checks that are no longer relevant for modern SEO. Finally, SEOquake can now analyze all types of XML sitemaps.
Internal/External (For Internal/External links):
Just like the Diagnosis tab, these reports have been redesigned completely to make them more convenient for the user. SEOquake now displays much more useful information on each link, including its URL, anchor text and type! The ability to know a link’s type is an extremely useful addition, since now all links in the report can be filtered by type, as well as by their follow/nofollow property. Last but not least, SEOquake now displays links with the same URL but with a different anchor text as separate lines in the report. Also, the ‘Save as CSV’ feature now allows users to export only the links that are currently displayed on their screen, which is really helpful if you just want to generate a report listing, say, nofollow or image links only.
Compare URLs/Domains:
Apart from its new look, SEOquake’s URLs/Domains Comparison feature has undergone a giant usability improvement. Now you can update your report without switching browser tabs or losing previously collected data. Simply click on 'Change list' to add or remove new domain names or URLs in your report - and that's it!
From now on, there will be an SEOquake category in the SEMrush News section. If you want to stay up to date on all the news and updates related to SEOquake, be sure to check it every once in a while - we have great plans for this project, so there are lots of improvements and updates ahead!
As always, we are more than happy to receive your feedback! Please feel free to share your comments, suggestions and concerns via mail@seoquaketeam.com. Thanks for making SEOquake better!
