The SEMrush Dashboard provides you with small-scale widgets of data related to your current Projects. These widgets will provide you with a snapshot of some of the most important metrics associated with SEMrush's tools.
When you create a Project, each tool within Projects has its own set of metrics that will automatically display in a widget on the dashboard. The Domain Analytics widget is created when you add a domain with the green “Add domain …” button at the top of the dashboard. This quick guide will help you better understand what these metrics mean.
- Organic Keywords: The number of keywords bringing users to the website via Google's top 100 organic search results.
- Organic Traffic: The number of users expected to visit the website in the following month or year on the condition that the average monthly organic traffic stays relatively the same.
- Ads Keywords: The number of keywords bringing users to the website via Google's paid search results.
- Display Ads: The number of display ads that SEMrush saw the website advertising or publishing over the past month or year.
- Ads Traffic: The number of users expected to visit the website in the following month on condition that average monthly paid traffic stays relatively the same
The percentages (%) below each number represent the domain's change in the respective metric when compared to the previous month or year (if you select “year” in the button above the widget). Click on any of these graphs to open up a deeper report.
Position Tracking (1)
- Visibility: This percentage refers to how visible the domain, subdomain or URL you're tracking is across the results pages of the keywords added to your project. Read more here.
- Update: The time range in this column represents how long it has been since the last time the Position Tracking project was updated with fresh data. The numbers in red or green indicate any positive or negative change between now and the last data update.
Site Audit (2)
- Site Health: The Total Score of your Site Audit, based on the number of issues found on the website. The Trend shows you whether or not the site is moving in the right direction when it comes to improving its health. If you address the issues listed in your Site Audit based on the instructions SEMrush provides, the website’s health will improve and the score will go up.
On Page SEO Checker (3)
- Ideas: The number of suggestions gathered by On Page SEO checker that can be implemented to help improve your landing pages’ to rank for the keywords in your project. These are gathered by comparing your pages with those of your rivals who are ranked higher than you in Google search. The number of pages mentioned under “Description” refers to the number of landing pages to work on that have been added to your campaign.
Social Media Tracker (4)
- The numbers under each social media icon represent your main project domain’s audience size on the respective social media platform. The percentage indicates the amount of change over the default time range in your project.
SEMrush Sensor (5)
- Range: This is the daily volatility score (Personal Score) of your domains based on the keywords you are tracking in their Project. In terms of volatility, anything ranked between 0-2 is considered low, 2-5 is normal, 5-8 is high and 8-10 is very high. A high or very high score indicates a high chance that your website’s rankings could significantly fluctuate.
- Daily change: This indicates the difference between today’s score and yesterday’s score for the domain.
Brand Monitoring (6)
- Campaign: the name of the campaign within the Project. You can create up to 3 different Brand Monitoring campaigns in each Project and track multiple variations of a branded word or phrase in each campaign.
- New: The number of new mentions since the last update.
- Notes highlight significant dates, such as Google algorithm updates or SEMrush database updates, on the graphs within SEMrush tools and reports. The list in the dashboard will be the most recent notes listed by their creation date. SEMrush automatically adds notes for any Google updates so you will be able to see if there are any changes that could have an effect on certain search efforts, and you can add your own custom notes for convenience.
Backlink Audit (8)
- Toxic domains: This is the number of toxic domains sending backlinks associated to your domain. The higher this number, the more likely you are to receive a Google penalty and lose your search rankings and domain authority.
Display Advertising (9)
- Total Ads: This is the number of display ads that SEMrush saw the domain publishing or advertising, depending on their activity as more of an advertiser or publisher of display ads.
Organic Traffic Insights (10)
- Organic Sessions: These sessions represent the organic interactions between a user and your website within a specific timeframe. The more sessions you have, the higher the change you have of accomplishing your intended goals.
